Behind Enemy Lines (Am I?)

This post was inspired by the song ‘Terrorist’ by Lowkey, someone I was oblivious to until very recently. I came across the song today through what by mother refers to as a down-the-rabbit-hole journey on the interweb. It was after my new-found appreciation of the London-born rapper, poet, journalist, Akala (the younger brother of the one and only Ms. Dynamite) led me to an extended interview of his by London Real, in which he sings the praises of Lowkey himself as a successful, independent artist.

So here I am. Living amongst the feared Muslim people. The extremists. The ISIS supporters. The terrorists.  Right? Continue reading
